HICKORY HILL

WYCKOFF, NJ / / 2023

The Hickory Hill project centered around a comprehensive kitchen renovation that reimagined the home’s layout to incorporate two dedicated pantry spaces alongside the main kitchen. The design was thoughtfully developed to enhance functionality, organization, and entertaining capability.

One pantry was designed for bulk storage, while the second functioned as a fully operational scullery, serving as an extension of the primary kitchen. The scullery includes a secondary sink, dishwasher, additional refrigerator and freezer, and an integrated ice maker, allowing food preparation and cleanup to occur separately from the main entertaining space.

The main kitchen features a custom two-tone painted cabinetry package constructed in a refined inset style. The cabinetry incorporates numerous specialty storage and convenience features, including tray dividers, a dedicated paper towel drawer, concealed pop-up countertop outlets, and fully paneled appliances that maintain the kitchen’s clean architectural aesthetic.

A defining feature of the project is the installation of a 16-foot-wide NanaWall lift-and-slide door system, dramatically opening the kitchen to the exterior living space and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.

To support year-round comfort and performance, the renovation also included the installation of a radiant heated floor system and custom linear HVAC diffusers designed to wash conditioned air across the NanaWall opening when the system is in use. Additionally, we integrated a retractable screen system that operates seamlessly with the NanaWall when fully opened.

Beyond the kitchen renovation, Academy Builders installed two custom glass wine display towers within the formal living room, providing a striking architectural feature that blends functional storage with elegant presentation.
