PRE-CONSTRUCTION MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Academy Builders is a design-focused general contractor specializing in high-end residential construction throughout Northern New Jersey. We are seeking a Pre-construction Manager / Estimator to lead our estimating and pre-construction process as we continue to grow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed project budgets from conceptual through construction documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and scope development across all trades
Level subcontractor bids and manage trade coverage
Identify scope gaps and risk early in the design process
Coordinate with architects, designers, and internal team members
Prepare clear, client-facing proposals and budget presentations
Support project handoff to construction team
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience in residential construction estimating or project management
Strong understanding of high-end construction methods and materials
Ability to interpret incomplete drawings and develop full scopes
Highly organized and detail-oriented

PROJECT MANAGER

Academy Builders is a design-focused general contractor specializing in high-end residential renovations and additions throughout Northern New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex, detail-driven projects.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the level of precision required in high-end residential construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead day-to-day management of high-end residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality and timeline adherence
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and designers
Manage change orders, RFIs, and project documentation through Buildertrend
Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets Academy Builders’ standards of craftsmanship
Identify and proactively resolve issues in the field before they impact schedule or budget
Coordinate closely with our in-house custom cabinetry and millwork division
Lead project meetings and maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience managing high-end residential construction projects
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and detailing
Experience working with architects and interior designers on design-driven projects
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
High level of organization and attention to detail
Strong communication and leadership skills
Proficiency in construction management software (Buildertrend experience preferred)

MATERIALS RUNNER / OPERATION SUPPORT
Academy Builders | High-End Residential Construction
Academy Builders is a high-end residential construction company specializing in detail-driven renovations and custom millwork. We are seeking a reliable, organized Materials Runner to support our field teams, shop, and office operations.
This role is critical to keeping projects running efficiently by ensuring materials, tools, and information move seamlessly between job sites, our shop, and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive company truck to pick up and deliver materials between:
Job sites
Shop
Office
Designers, architects, and subcontractors
Handle urgent material needs to keep projects moving without delays
Maintain organization of job sites and shop areas
Track and manage inventory of:
Shop consumables (fasteners, adhesives, finishes, etc.)
Job site materials
Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials
Ensure tools and materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there
Support field teams with day-to-day operational needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and storage areas
Communicate clearly with project managers and team members regarding needs and priorities
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to drive pickup trucks and small commercial vehicles
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift and carry materials (50+ lbs)
Reliable, punctual, and responsive
Basic understanding of construction materials and tools preferred (but willing to train the right person)
